Prospect for Bidders for Responding to Assam Tenders and Promoting Business

A unique feature of Assam economy is backwardness amidst plenty. While the state is rich in natural resources and it provides nearly 25% of the requirements of petroleum products of the entire country, the economic growth or growth of per capita income has not maintained pace with the rest of the nation. Yet Assam tenders can offer substantial opportunities for entrepreneurs looking forward to make it good in business with such tender bids.

Economic Problems
Assam in fact has been facing economic problems from time to time. While economy of the while the overall growth of the economy of the country was 6% during the same period the growth of Assam economy stood at only 3% and even registered a negative growth during the sixth plan period.

Opportunities Offered

Assam tender is also available in the industrial sector though it is not one of the most industrially advanced states in the country. Physical and political isolation from the neighboring countries and states as well as from other Southeast Asian economies has been some of the major reasons of industries not taking off in Assam. However,
  • Assam is major producer of crude oil accounting for around 15% of the total crude oil output of India.
  • Assam has four oil refineries and is the second highest producer of natural gas in the world.

Several other industries are also coming up in the state that includes chemical fertilizer plant, petrochemical industries, paper mills, sugar mills, cement plant, and cosmetic plans. In result the chances for tender bids on Assam tender is growing and simultaneously are growing the chances of bidders to make business promotion by responding and winning these tenders.
